And whoever has taqwa of Allah, He will make a way out for them and provide for them from sources they could never imagine. And whoever puts their trust in Allah, then He [alone] is sufficient for them. Certainly Allah achieves His Will. Allah has already set a destiny for everything. (Qur'an 65:2-3)

Alhamdulillah, Allah is Ar-Razzaq (الرازق)—The Provider, The Sustainer. He is the One who provides sustenance, provision, and resources to all of His creation, from the smallest creature to the largest. This provision encompasses not only material wealth, food, and necessities but also our relationships, as well as our emotional, spiritual, and intellectual needs. Allahu Akbar—truly, Allah is the greatest!

Reflecting on this beautiful attribute of Allah allows us to recognize and come into presence with His continuous and abundant generosity. He provides in ways that are often unseen, unexpected, and perfectly measured for each of us. His provision is limitless, given without need or expectation, and is a manifestation of His mercy and wisdom.

This name reminds us to place our trust fully in Allah’s care, knowing that our rizq is already decreed and that He provides with perfect knowledge of what is best for our well-being in this life and the next. We can find comfort in knowing that Allah's limitless and overflowing generosity and mercy is sufficient for us. He will always take care of all our needs.

My dear sister, may Allah bless you, place immense barakah in your healing journey, and make your efforts to seek support through therapy and embrace your wholeness a beautiful means to a fulfilling, fruitful, and faith-filled life that brings Allah the utmost pleasure. Ameen.

If you live in Canada, your private insurance company may reimburse you for your sessions depending on the coverage they provide; you can submit your therapy receipts seeking reimbursement. If you wish to be reimbursed for your Muslimah Therapy sessions, I recommend contacting your insurance provider and asking the following question:

Does my insurance plan cover services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist?

I do not offer direct billing. It is important that you check with your insurance provider prior to your first session to determine if you are eligible for coverage.  Other questions you may want to ask your insurance provider include:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • What is the maximum coverage amount per therapy session?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

When submitting your request for reimbursement from your insurance provider, you will be required to provide the receipt for your therapy session which contains my registration information as follows:

Registered Psychotherapist: Jennifer Zaghloul

Registration Number: 13881

The following financial accessibility offering is inspired by the thoughtful framework Alexis J. Cunningfolk has generously shared. I have adapted it to reflect the nature of my work as a therapist.

For those experiencing financial hardship, I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots to help make therapy more accessible. It’s important to regularly assess your current needs, resources, and circumstances to determine what feels manageable for you. Please also consider the frequency of sessions as part of your financial planning when exploring this option. I strongly encourage weekly sessions for at least the first three months of therapy to establish consistency and build the momentum necessary for meaningful progress. If finances are a concern, we can explore options together, such as adjusting the length of sessions, scheduling biweekly sessions after the initial phase, or discussing alternative resources that support your healing journey.

Sliding scale arrangements depend on trust, truthfulness, and accountability. I will not ask for income verification; instead, I trust you to be honest with yourself and me. If you request a sliding scale spot when you can truly afford the full fee, it limits access for those who genuinely need this financial flexibility. I also encourage you to reflect on how you value therapy in relation to other investments you make or your income. For instance, if you are also a service provider and your own fees are comparable to or exceed my fees, this may be a good opportunity to reflect on how therapy aligns with your overall priorities.

Being honest about your financial situation supports the sustainability of this offering and respects the work of therapists, like myself, who have families to care for and bills to pay. When I am compensated fairly, I can dedicate more time and resources to offering free or low-cost services for those most in need.

Therapy is an investment in your well-being, and discerning between sacrifice and hardship is a valuable step in determining what works for you:

  • Sacrifice: If paying for therapy feels challenging but not harmful, this is considered a sacrifice. It might mean cutting back on non-essential expenses like dining out, new clothes, or luxury purchases, or working a little extra to prioritize your mental health. Choosing to make these sacrifices reflects a commitment to your healing and growth, and the life of peace and purpose you are working toward.
  • Hardship: If paying for therapy would cause significant harm—such as being unable to pay for basic necessities like food, rent, or utilities—this qualifies as a hardship. In such cases, we can explore whether a sliding scale spot is available. Please note that these spots are limited, and there may be a wait before we can begin therapy. In the meantime, I’m happy to help you explore other supportive resources that may better suit your current circumstances, in shaa Allah.

Please know that I am deeply committed to supporting my sisters on their journeys toward healing and growth. It is an honour to walk alongside you in this work. In order to sustain this important mission and continue providing care to those in need, I must also honour my own boundaries.

If you are unsure about whether therapy is financially feasible for you, I encourage you to reach out. We can explore your situation together, and I will do my best to help you find a way forward, whether through a sliding scale spot, alternative resources, or other forms of support. Finances should never be a barrier to seeking help, and I am here to work with you in a way that feels fair and sustainable for us both.
