And whoever has taqwa of Allah, He will make a way out for them and provide for them from sources they could never imagine. And whoever puts their trust in Allah, then He [alone] is sufficient for them. Certainly Allah achieves His Will. Allah has already set a destiny for everything. (Qur'an 65:2-3)

If you live in Canada, your private insurance company may reimburse you for your sessions depending on the coverage they provide; you can submit your therapy receipts seeking reimbursement. If you wish to be reimbursed for your Muslimah Therapy sessions, I recommend contacting your insurance provider and asking the following question:

Does my insurance plan cover services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist?

I do not offer direct billing. It is important that you check with your insurance provider prior to your first session to determine if you are eligible for coverage.  Other questions you may want to ask your insurance provider include:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • What is the maximum coverage amount per therapy session?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

When submitting your request for reimbursement from your insurance provider, you will be required to provide the receipt for your therapy session which contains my registration information as follows:

Registered Psychotherapist: Jennifer Zaghloul

Registration Number: 13881

The following financial accessibility offering has been inspired by the framework Alexis J. Cunningfolk has so generously shared. I have made changes where necessary to reflect my work as a therapist.

For those experiencing financial hardship, there are a few sliding scale spots to help offset the cost of therapy. Regularly checking in with yourself to assess your current needs, situation, and resources, will help you determine what may work best for you. When evaluating your ability to cover the cost of therapy, frequency of sessions is another consideration.

For a sliding scale arrangement to work, it relies on truthfulness and accountability. I will never ask for income verification. I trust you to be honest. Please be mindful that if you request a sliding scale therapy spot when you can truthfully afford the full fees, you are limiting access to those who truly need the gift of financial flexibility. Being honest with yourself and your financial situation when engaging with sliding scale practices grows strong and sustainable communities. It also respects the work of therapists, like myself, who have families to support and rent to pay. Additionally, when I am paid fairly, I am able to invest more time and resources into free and lower-cost offerings.

Therapy is your investment in you, and it’s important to discern the difference between a sacrifice and a hardship.

Sacrifice: If paying for therapy would be difficult, but not detrimental, it qualifies as a sacrifice. You might have to cut back on other spending—such as going out to dinner, buying coffee, or a new outfit—but this will not have a long term harmful impact on your life. When you make this sacrifice, you are choosing to prioritize your healing, growth, and transformation to create a life of wellness, peace and purpose.

Hardship: If paying for therapy would have a significant harmful impact on your life—such as not being able to put food on the table or pay your bills—that would be considered a hardship and we can explore what sliding scale spots may be available.

If you have read the considerations above and have determined that the cost of therapy would create significant hardship in your life, please feel free to inquire about available sliding scale spots when requesting a discovery call.

Alhamdulillah, Allah is Ar-Razzaq and our rizq has already been written—always with His overflowing generosity and mercy. May Allah bless you and put immense barakah in your healing journey and may your seeking support through therapy become a beautiful means to a fulfilling, fruitful life that is most pleasing to Him. Ameen.
