Please note: the following kind words about Muslimah Therapy programs have been shared by sisters who have attended Expressive Arts Therapy workshops and events. These are not client testimonials for therapy they received.
May Allah bless you. You are an anchor to many sisters like myself; an anchor of positivity and hope. Alhumdulilah, Allah directed me to your wonderful work as I was scrolling on the Internet. Your Ramadan workshop has helped me realize that I need to love myself more and to speak to my emotions and acknowledge them.
Your session was absolutely amazing and I’ve been thinking about it so much. Thank you.
“What I enjoyed most about this workshop was how random objects can be used to express my innermost feelings. I didn’t expect myself to get so emotional, but I felt safe in this loving environment. Coming together with like-minded sisters who love Allah the Prophet ﷺ and was such a blessing.”
“I am truly grateful for the therapy group specifically tailored for Muslim women, with guidance from a female Muslim therapist. Being surrounded by genuine sisters who are open to listening has deepened my connection to Allah.”
“This workshop reminded me that it’s okay that I have challenges. The self-worth piece very much resonated with me.”
“This workshop has inspired me to take better care of myself. I now realize that taking care of myself, my mental and emotional health, is also a form of ibadah.”
“I really loved the easy, open and relaxed environment that you created for us in the group. Safety, meaning safety of my heart and nervous system, is really crucial for me and I felt safe in this space. Thank you.”
“What I enjoyed most about this workshop was being connected to my inner child.”
“I enjoyed writing the poem with all the sisters; how beautiful and moving it was to hear it read out loud! I really benefited from the other sisters’ company, from their expressions of art, their stories and their heartfelt words that they poured out and shared with us all. It allowed us to connect with each other on a level of kindness, empathy and love.”
“It was interesting how you taught us how to release our emotions throughout the session and I found that quite beneficial. I would like to practice that more and even use it as a tool to help my own family, especially my younger children.”
“This workshop has given me a greater sense of shukr; I felt so grateful afterward that Allah placed me in such a meeting to learn about myself, to be with likeminded sisters, to share all these beautiful qualities that Allah has bestowed upon us all. I felt so much peace and stillness afterwards, of submission, trust and hope. I felt loved and valued.”
“When the workshop ended, nobody wanted to leave; you created this safe space for us and my soul felt great sadness that it was time to go, so I’m so glad we ended with singing and sharing the joy and love of our faith together, as it uplifted our spirits and then I left with an inner and outer smile and glow.”
“I really benefited from this experience. I feel it is so encompassing, nurturing, enlightening and expanding. It allows you to get to know your true self, to accept every part of you, to tune into your emotions, your feelings, your body and any pain or ache that you may experience. I find it quite amazing actually and also humbling as we can really get to know who we are, to appreciate the qualities Allah has gifted us with, have the ability to shed tears, and to express our emotions in whichever form that may be.”
I’m so happy with where these sessions are pointing me to and for the fact that they’re not feeding into the victim or the codependent narrative. This work has got me reflecting; perhaps it’s about rising above our traumas until they resolve little by little as part of the journey, not about going and operating on them.
Jazak Allah khayran for a beautiful session today, it really felt comforting for me. I felt such a sense of congruence and healing. Being invited to place my hand on my heart and speak with it was so powerful. The art making also made me realize that my body knows with full clarity, like on a body level, exactly what it needs.
“This workshop was such a gift, to be able to share that with others as well and be a means of helping each other heal. Thank you so much for providing this space for us to all be brave, to share, to heal and to grow.”
“I am thankful to Allah for guiding me here. May it be a means of transformation and enlightenment for us all, and a means of beautifying our worship and servitude to our Lord through following the best of guides, our beloved Sayyiduna Muhammad ﷺ.”
“There’s something so special about what Muslimah Therapy offers our community. What I absolutely love is how you incorporate faith into the sessions–it just adds so much depth.”
This workshop sparked an interest in Expressive Arts Therapy for me in a way that I hadn’t thought about before. Although it may not be completely apparent to me, I am realizing that there are definitely areas and events in my life that I need to heal from.
I loved the way you connected everything back to Allah ﷻ and our faith. I also loved how safe and loving you made the environment feel right from the beginning. The “trust” exercise was awesome!
This workshop has reminded me to remember His mercy, His love, His generosity, and for me to apply those qualities to myself and to others around me.
I felt safe sharing in this workshop because I knew there wouldn’t be any judgement. This workshop has inspired me to work on feeling more confident and comfortable in being creative.
